• A Few Reasons Why Wordpress Kills at SEO

i had a quick conversation with the owner of an online magazine today who asked me why wordpress websites seem to perform so well in google searches. i failed to provide the succinct and compelling answer upon first response, though we agreed to connect again tomorrow. click on to get four quick pointers – now that i’ve had more time to think on it.

    1. great seo plugins that help you get down to business.
with an open source community of wordpress plugins and in-depth knowledge of what makes for great seo, you can easily attain the search rankings you desire. of course, it takes some time and effort, and you need to know what you’re doing. technology doesn’t replace expertise – it saves time for experts!

    2. clear, accessible content – especially title and headers
wordpress is a platform where accessible code is proliferated. if you don’t know what accessible means in web space, then please do some quick research. one of the main concepts is that text is easy to read for site guests – especially to seniors and those with slight to major disabilities. accessible content is also easy to read by google bots as they collect data for ranking pages. if you know how to write seo-friendly copy for websites, then the accessible code that you see  across the wordpress community will be your best friend.

    3. well-structured areas to input various levels of content
wordpress separates titles, permalinks, tags, body copy, etc into neat fields that allow an expert writer to produce search-winning copy and code. i’m betting the same lucid structure helps google find what it’s looking for to rank pages easily.

    4. wordpress is the easiest content management system to use
since wordpress is so easy to use on the backend – to create new content, to build in seo value, to pull fresh content from your blog over to social network pages, etc –  it encourages and enables you to create more and more content to attract google. there is even an increedibly friendly iphone app, which i often use on the go to post on a topic while it’s fresh on my mind. again, you first need to know how to write content that google likes (and you need to know what google penalizes). once you do, you’re off and running towards making your website more relevant and useful to search engine traffic.
