“in death, jackson’s music enjoyed a commercial renaissance that had eluded him for years. his songs surged to the top 15 best-selling albums on amazon.com within hours.” we are a sick people – time to get real.

just to clarify – when you treat an entertainer like a freak and not buy his work while he’s alive, you take away a large part of what makes him tick. you also raise the stresses on him to levels that no one could manage. you contribute in small part to his passing. then, you buy his records as soon as he dies? sick is the only way to describe this behavior. the man was fragile in every way as a person – despite his enormous gifts. it’s all over his music and the way he looked. he was probably beaten as a child. i don’t think most people realize how difficult it is to be a perfectionist on one hand and on the other hand have people caring less and less about what you produce. that means the world is moving past what you can offer it. that is an extremely sad place to be.
