“This Bloke from America, Brad Doggett”

watch the below video. what a piss. this woman from the uk produces a vlog that raves about brad doggett, who’s one of four acts in my “meet the doggetts” show at jammin’ java on jan 6. this week, two of my posts talked about lightning rods and how lucky i am to be surrounded by so much serious talent. well, this one video below underlines the kind of nutty stuff in my circle right now. brad has 1,000,000 views on youtube through a prolific gallery of music videos. when i tried to add him as a friend on facebook, he messaged me saying that facebook won’t allow him to add any more and so he just uses his profile as a fan page. 2010 is going to be big — maybe even my biggest year yet. i cannot wait.

New Sections at the Blog: Featured, Shop

created new tabs at my blog for two new content areas — featured and shop. various current showcases and past case studies will live at the former area. first page has been dedicated to “meet the doggetts,” an upcoming concert i’m co-producing and promoting at jammin’ java on january 6, 2010. what a talented family! second area i began to develop is a shop. sections include gifts, ticket sales, special offers, and capital campaigns. the last will soon house an interesting push for saint gabrielle street — yet another one of my powerfully creative and high impact clients on the rise. i’m helping this group with fundraisers in 2010.

Five Rules of Engagement — Turf Battles 101

i’m engaged in a bit of a turf battle these days and want to remind my fellow business owners about a few basic rules of engagement. 1: it’s always about the customer. don’t get mad at me if i can serve them better than you can. you didn’t listen, you fell asleep or out of touch, etc. it happens to every successful/comfortable/aging business. 2: these are your shortcomings. maybe it’s time to look at yourself instead of blaming others for why things are the way they are. 3: there’s always room for competition. customers want options. you can’t monopolize. 4: if you choose to get personal, then don’t expect me to follow suit. allow me to turn my other cheek. your disrespect only tells me that i’m doing something very right indeed. 5: don’t stray off subject. focus. i want a good, clean fight. touch gloves. show me what you’ve got. if you win, the customer wins — and i’ll be happy for that.
